MS equivalent? Hi, A friend of mine is in love with this ProGo indicator that is included in QuoteTracker. I can't find it on any other trading system under this name. Nor can I find it listed anywhere on search engines. Likely it is just called something else, or its not really of much value. What it does - It supposedly separates the retail buying from Professional buying. Green line for retail and Red for Professional. Shows when the 'smart' money is beginning to buy, and gives an entry signal when the Pro money line crosses to Retail line. Has anyone heard of this indicator and what would be the MetaStock equivalent? Is there any way to truly separate Retail and Professional buying like that? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= From: Jose Silva <josesilva22 /at\ yahoo.com> To: equismetastock /at\ yahoogroups.com <equismetastock /at\ yahoogroups.com> Date: Tuesday, February 14, 2006, 11:14:50 PM Subject: [EquisMetaStock Group] Re: ProGo indicator? Pro-Go III pds:=21; public:=Mov(O-Ref(C,-1),pds,E)*200; pro:=Mov(C-O,pds,E)*200; public; pro; 0 |
Both Dr Alexander Elder & Larry Williams assume that the Open consists mostly of the public or uneducated money, and the Close represents the weight of the professional market. I'm not so sure on this one - it may be too simplistic a definition. jose '-) http://www.metastocktools.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= From: bev lover <m9a1 /at\ yahoo.com> To: equismetastock /at\ yahoogroups.com <equismetastock /at\ yahoogroups.com> Date: Wednesday, February 15, 2006, 6:26:03 AM Subject: [EquisMetaStock Group] Re: ProGo indicator? MS equivalent? Thanks Jose, I am not sure if that will approximate the ProGo indicator on QuoteTracker, but I will get my friend to print out some charts and compare them to my MetaStock results for the same security and dates. I don't have QuoteTracker loaded on my PC. Do you have any links to discussions on Pro-Go? Is it even an actual term? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= From: Jose Silva <josesilva22 /at\ yahoo.com> To: equismetastock /at\ yahoogroups.com <equismetastock /at\ yahoogroups.com> Date: Wednesday, February 15, 2006, 7:30:21 PM Subject: [EquisMetaStock Group] Re: ProGo indicator? MS equivalent? The Williams PRO-Go is a very simple indicator - it calculates two plots: Public & Professional. The Public plot is calculated from the average of the bar's change from previous Close to today's Open. The Professional plot is calculated from the average of the bar's change from today's Open to today's Close. Simple as that. Try using different periods for the Pro-Go until it matches the QuoteTracker chart. More on the Pro-Go from Google search: "Pro Go"+"Larry Williams" jose '-) http://www.metastocktools.com | |
